Look Up

This is not my video, but I needed to share it with you.

I’ve been in a little rut (a more ruttier place than my usual rut, even) these past few days. I have really wanted to work on my novel, even if only by reading for research or by organizing what I already have, but I haven’t been able to focus. I’ve been feeling restless and down, but there’s no stand out cause. In fact, by all accounts, things have been looking up.

I got my tax refund. I went to the mall with my pregnant sister and niece and we tried to walk the baby out of her (to no avail). I found the $150.00 computer bag I wanted two years ago, which I bought for $30.00. I got a really nice writing application for my Mac, which will help in my writing. I bought some books for research. Plans for my friend to visit and bring my car to me are solid. New job is solid; it was confirmed that I’ll be working in the area I really hoped to work.

So, yes. Things have been look up, indeed. Why the rut? Sometimes, when you’re feeling really down, what you need is a pick-me-up. I got caught up on my favorite YouTube channels (The Lizzie Bennett Diaries, ItsWayPastMyBedtime, DailyGrace, etc.) but not even they could pull me up. Then, I was scrolling down my tumblr dash and came across this video.

Please watch it. Sometimes it takes the wisdom of a child to speak to the things that are bothering you. This was so nicely made and it just really lightened my mood. It’s worth a watch and a bookmark for rainy days when you just need to hear this advice again. Check it out.
