Today, I feel quite wretched. I’m over here swallowing razorblades, knowing that I should probably get my tonsils removed to avoid going through this again and again. Being one who generally avoids doctors at all costs, I really can’t see actually doing anything but gritting my teeth until I recover. This is typical for me, unfortunately. It happens a few times each year, no matter the weather and no matter what preventative measures I take.
This being the first entry, I feel I should probably give you a lot more than a complaint of a sore throat. You’re probably hoping for some kind of introductory into the life and times of a girl who decided to make a blog. Good idea, readers. Be warned, though: I’m not exactly good at this kind of thing.
My name is Maeby. That’s a good start, right? I’m 26 years old and currently living with friends in Virginia. I was laid off of work toward the end of April, which means I have been out of work for a ridiculous amount of time right now. Times are tight and uncertain, though I’m doing all I can to propel myself back into the workforce. Being that I have no degrees behind my name in an economy that is less than booming, I am not an employer’s first choice these days. Aside from my struggle with job hunting, I am expecting a life-changing event to take place any day now.
….and here we learn that I really cannot write about myself so blatantly. I have a feeling you’re going to get to know me pretty well from the things I do put on this blog, though, so sit tight and hang on. It’s bound to be a bumpy ride from here.
